Description

This plant is a small annual herb found amongst the grass, so you havee to be very good at spotting it, but then they are easy to dig up and often in loose sand. This plant has pretty purple flowers which are small with tiny brown dots. It starts grrowing with the rain and can be harvested from late December through to April. Often onee stem nods to another plant and children love to find them. This is an important plant to many people and commonly eaten today.

Tasting Notes

This can be eaten raw or slightly roasted in the coals. It tastes very much like the 'mainstream' potato.
